NOTICE BOARD

Located in the entrance foyer of the Inn of the Musty Ember at Five Ways Meet. The pinboard is layers thick in haphazardly arranged scrolls and scraps of paper. Many of them are adverts for traders and wares.

Central is the Inn Tarriff including at its base Cob’s charge for ‘writing of notes, 1 silver piece for ten words, no translations’. Beneath this is a very crude old map of this region of Allansia.

There are an assortment of ‘adventurers wanted’ notices, mostly faded, in a wide variety of scripts.

A fabulous illustration advertising the Trial of Champions on mount Firetop.

The front page of the new Salamonis Press issue 3, which truly deserves a thread all of its own.

An advert for the Merchant Guard headquarters at Silverton.

A faded parchment ‘seeking players for the Ogreball circuit at Shazaar, money paid’.

A faded parchment ‘seeking players for Drefts role-playing game featuring the scientific-fantastical world of planet earth, back table, musty ember’ with a highly insulting troll rune scrawled across it.

Recruitment for military service in Salamonis city guard.

‘Double your money’ Antique gold coins wanted. Will pay double amount in official Port gold coins for genuine old style gold coins. Blacksand City mint.

Crew (sailors) needed for… and a list of several ships and their captains largely docked in Port Blacksand, some of which have been amended with additon of words such as ‘sunk’ and ‘lost at sea’.

An advert for the AGM of the local council of elders of the villages and outlaying homesteads of Five Ways Meet to be duly meeting here in this Inn at next full moon.

A petition for alms for the repair of various facilities relaying to the villages and outlaying homesteads of Five Ways Meet.

An advert for the Smithy at Smeet on the Silverton road, all metalworks provided.

An advert for Ferris Ferry crossing on the Whitewater avoiding the Whitewater rapids, 2 gold per crossing, maximum load 1 horsecart.

Harriots Herbs, northern Darkwood, follow the chimes. Best herbal remedies ~ unbeatable prices.

As well as the above there are countless ‘missing persons’ illustrations intermixed with ‘wanted posters’ for bandits.

By far the majority of notes pinned here in a circle around the edge are messages in different hands, cants and codes; between travellers, adventurers and merchants using the pinboard as their communication forum. Some of these messages relate to each other conversationally and go back several years.

The idea of ‘business cards’ has not yet caught on in the world of Titan
